Where is everybody?

Nobody's posted since the 18th. Is there anyone out there? Helloooooooooooooooooooo.......................

I've traced my first block for back basting! I'm going to do the bowl of fruit but I'm stumped on what fabric to use for the bowl. Today's mission: raid my stash.

  1. Hee hee, you make me laugh! It’s quiet here indeed. It’s a shame that the maximum membership is reached for this blog, because I have made some lovely lollypop blocks, if I may say so myself!
You can find them here: http://dutchcomfort.wordpress.com

  2. In the Netherlands it's also very quiet the vacantion period has begon. I'm staying at home and hope nice weather is coming towards us!
I went to the shops today before they close for summer. I bought nice fabrics for a little quilt of a lily pond with frogs. And have you found nice fabric for your bowl?
    Have a nice day,
    Marijke

  3. I'm still here too, though I haven't done too much applique lately (I've had some other things to finish), but hopefully soon. Look forward to seeing the fabrics you choose Eileen! Nicolette, your lollypops are lovely! If you would like to have me post them here for you, I can give it a try, if you'd like to mail them to me with what you'd like to say about them. I wonder if we could just have a "guest" membership that people could use? (I have no idea if that would work--just throwing out ideas) Marijke--I think I would panic if quilt shops closed (almost like having my sewing machine break), but you've clearly planned ahead! How long do the shops close?

  4. I was thinking the very same thing! I'm finishing up a different applique quilt, and then jumping head first into Rosville Album. It's frustrating... My head has done the shift to Rosville, but not the work. I keep wanting to be free to choose fabric is the FUN style if Roseville.

  5. I think we're all impressed by the beautiful finish then LOL As for me, I have been too busy with work these last weeks. I'll try to have some blocks done this coming month!

  6. Ha Donna, the shop around the corner closes for six weeks!!! Some close for a few weeks and others are only a few hours open in a week time. I'm glad there online webshops!! (sorry for my mistakes in English)

  7. I am still working along on my Sprigs blocks, but with a lot of family visiting I have had little time for sewing OR the computer. I have been missing the Glorious Applique contacts! I just learned to do back basting with our local applique club a few months ago, Eileen, so will look forward to seeing your photos when you post them. Have fun with your stash.

  10. I'm with you Eileen--I've been wondering too. I am working on Flower Pots pretty consistently but forgot to photograph my most recent panel (the bottom one) before I attached it to the quilt. I'll post when I have the top panel completed--soon!

  11. I was left speechless after the last post on June 18. Did you see Denise's quilt top? It's pretty unbelievable, and a hard act to follow!

  13. Agree with Nicolette's comment re the maximum membership for the blog. I've just started my Flower Garden quilt and made my first block, you can find it here: http://restisnotidleness.blogspot.com/

  14. I wish the Blog limit would be upgraded too! About 30 of us started "Flower Garden" with KML at a Sydney workshop in February. None of us can post. I have loved looking every day at this blog for inspiration and read all the comments.... but the posts are few and far between. Even the gals in Denmark are more proficient! I'm going to have to set up my own blog!
Donna's idea of a guest membership is excellent!
PS The posts I have seen are soooooo amazing.
Happy holidays to those in Nthn Hemisphere

  15. Like Lee, I have been working away consistently on the Roseville squirrel panel for MONTHS. I'm doing the circles now and may be able to post soon. It's good to know that those of you unable to post have been working away as well. Thanks for rattling our cages, Eileen; I bet we'll see a flurry of posts soon!

  16. It's been a quiet blog lately for sure but love all the replies. I've just finished the borders on my Flower Pots and will post soon. Only one panel left to do.

  17. Hi everyone! I'm glad you're all still out there. I thought everyone has deserted this blog! I do check it everyday. I don't know what to do with the membership number, it is a pity that it has reached maximum. If you email Janet Treen, her address is on the list on the right panel, may be Janet can wriggle something - she is the blog guru. Unfortunately, my knowledge in this area is close to zero.
I'm working on the next major project. It's all drawn out, freezer paper all cut out and all I need is TIME to cut the fabric and applique. It has a number of applique panels with pieced blocks separating them, I smile everytime I see those panels! At the moment my day job is giving me grief and leaving me with little time to sew. I do need a big block of hours to do the fabric cutting in the one hit, my brain doesn't work that well if I do the cutting in too many sessions. I have done little projects though, I can't sit without something to do. Have finished 3 quick quilts - not yet quilted. I'll try and do a quick photo and post. Glad you're all still out there!! Cheers, Kim McL

  19. @Marijke - nice to meet you through this blog! A quiltshop that is closed for 6 weeks during holiday season? That’s no fun! I know Quilterspalet in The Hague is open all Summer and others have limited opening hours. Quilthoeve in Naaldwijk is new and will probably be open too!?

@Donna - Thanks for the offer! Like Kim suggested I will email Janet Treen to ask what’s possible with the membership or guest posts.
