Pine Trees quilt in " Quilt & Zo" magazine

Hi Everyone,

There is a quilt that I made not long ago, it's a pieced one with appliqué in the side triangles, titled "Pine Trees" which has been published in " Quilt & Zo" magazine. It is in Dutch though!  However, from the photos and templates, it would be pretty easy to follow. I don't have a photo that I can show here. Perhaps one of the Dutch ladies who has a copy of the magazine can post? K

    1. Wendy, it is in the issue, if you speak Dutch, it's all in the pattern, if you don't, then you'll have to work it out from the templates and layout diagram. K

  6. Heather,

The templates are in the magazine, although I'm not sure where one would buy it outside the Netherland / Europe. Perhaps if you can email the editor, Tineke and ask her? The quilt was fun to make, it used a lot of the KF collective fabrics.
I'll scan the photos from the magazine when I get near a scanner, K

  8. Like Kim suggested, I have just ordered a copy of Quilt & Zo issue 18 directly from the magazine. I will only use it to check out the measurements of my own "mock up" of the block, which came out very nice indeed.
Any chance of the pattern being issued in the USA at some point? I know that my friends will want to make it too when they see mine.

  9. I have just ordered a copy of issue 18 directly from Quilt&Zo. This weekend, I made a "mock up" of a 9" x 9" block and it came out very nice indeed. If my own measurements and method of putting the blocks together are close enough, I may just continue with my own as I have made 5 blocks already. But I am curious to see the magazine because it seems they have a lot more modern quilts than others.
Thank you Kim for mentioning Pine Trees on this blog or else I would not have found it.
A great stash buster! I have tons of fabrics with holes all over from making Flower Pots, Flower Basket Medallion and I'm nearly done with all the large blocks in Pandemonium. It was satisfying to cut the left overs into strips and make Pine Trees!

  10. Hello all, I will make a scan of the pages in the magazine and will try to upload it over here, if you would like?
I guess, knowing that Kim is the designer herself, there won't be a problem around the copyright....
Let me know and I will give it a try!
    Greetings,

  11. Caroline, unfortunately it would be a problem because usually the magazines hold the copyright for a period of time so you would be in breach of that copyright.
