Lollypop progress

It's been over a year since I posted any progress on my Lollypop project.  I still love it but got sidetracked by several other projects (wedding quilt for my daughter among them).  As you've probably experienced, once you step away, it's sometimes difficult to get back on track.  However, I finally focused and finished my third block.

Am I the only one who finds the selection of fabrics to take more time than the handwork?

As I've mentioned before, I was inspired to use the red background after seeing Francoise's version.  I haven't regretted my choice for a minute.  Hopefully I'll be back with another finished block sooner than this one took!

  1. Jan - Beautiful!!! I love the red background. I too have started and gotten sidetracked by other projects. But seeing the posted blocks really inspire me to get back to them. And I agree!!!... the fabric selection takes a huge amount of time!! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!!! - Debra (debraharryquilts.blogspot.com)

  2. Lovely lollipop block. I agree that it takes more time to select the fabric than it does to stitch it up. I guess that makes the fabric selection the more important of the two. Again, beautiful block.

  8. Beautiful! I love the deep red background too. Definitely a new contender for my Lollypops one day..... far in the future, I'm afraid! Do you think we can ship Kim off to a deserted island for a year's hiatus so we can get to finish all her old and current designs? LOL ; )

  13. I think I need that pattern! I'm starting to use colored backgrounds in my applique quilts as well. Red is my favorite color. And orange. And blue. You get the picture!
